Happy Birthday Blog

Well this has been an anticlimactic blog birthday. I have been working all day and am actually still at work. Sorry blog I hope you can forgive me. Anyway Happy Birthday and I hope there are many more posts and years to come.
On a side note I saw a family at home depot the other day. It was a family of 5 and they were all wearing matching Ugg boots. There aren't many things in this world that I dislike more than Ugg boots. I felt bad for the father and the son of the family. In my book a man that wears the same shoes that his wife and daughters wear is not a man. Maybe I'm the only one who thinks this (doubtful) but they horrible and I HATE them. What drives a man ...... even a woman to wear something so trashy and rude? What? The world will never know

New Bike?

I had a thought today ....... I was thinking that I want a new fixie for next summer. I love the one I have now, It is a vintage 1975 Motobeacane Mirage. The frame and the forks are the only things that are original. I have white Weinmenn wheels, with origin 8 hubs, new bottom bracket, riser handle bars, and some other things. I love the bike because I got it for 30 bucks and I built it all myself. But I am think that it is time to move on to bigger and better things. If I sell it I think that I can get 3 or 4 hundred for her. (hopefully 400) I definatly want to build my next one too so I think that I want to get this frame ...... (I can't get a picture of it but here is the link) Alien Bikes I like the lines and how the down tube is curved to fit a back wheel in there. I think this is the one I want to build next.

Mayer Hawthorne in a movie

I should have made this post along time ago. I recently went to Arizona and was hangin out with some friends. We decided to go see a movie. We saw "It's kind of a Funny story" with Zack Galifianakis(very funny) the movie was ok. I am not writing this post because I saw a mediocre movie. In the movie they played a song from one of my favorite bands .... Mayer Hawthorne. I just found out that they are coming to Salt Lake again. I am looking forward to it!

This is the song that was in the movie, it was playing in the background when the main character was on the phone with his best friends girlfriend.

So my bro says .... No bro its the carburetor

A few weeks or maybe months ago I shared with you that I traded an RC truck for a mountain bike and a mountain bike for a motorcycle. Well, the motorcycle runs great except for a few things. I need to buy a part to fix the back break (yes I have been riding it around with only front breaks) and that is going to cost about 100 bucks .... yuck. The other problem is the carburetors. I just can't seem to figure them out. They keep leaking gas out of the overflow tubes. Basically there is a can in the bottom of the carb that holds gas so that when I hit the throttle it has gas to put in the engine. Well the problem is, there are these floats that push a pin up to stop the flow of the gas. Well I've been adjusting the floats so that they turn off the gas flow sooner but it just doesn't seem to stop. Well come to find out these nettles have a layer of rubber on the ends to make a solid seal. Mine don't have the rubber. So, basically I have been taking the carbs out and putting them back in all this time for nothing really. Once I get those two things fixed she should be good to go for another ...... well forever!

Taken by Trees = Homework

I just finished my homework for the week. For my online classes Mondays are the final day of the week so most of my assignments and stuff are due on Mondays. I stumbled upon this album a couple of years ago and I love doing my homework to it. I know that sounds stupid but it really helps my to focus and get things done. This is my favorite song from the album. Some of the other songs are kind of weird but they are good to relax to and or concentrate on things.

Masi

I have been noticing Masi bikes a lot lately. When I was in Seattle last weekend I went to a bike shop and they had a ton of Masi bikes and Masi fixies. I have also seen a lot on Fixed Gear Gallery too. Here is one that I think is particularly good looking. The stripes on the down tubes remind me of a Bianchi

They are just so sleek and sexy looking. I need them! This picture I found on FixedGearGallery.com. I was very impressed and just had to post this to show everyone how amazing these wheels look!

Fixie Frame

The Cinelli Mash Track Frame has been calling out to me everywhere I go lately. I posted a picture of a very nice one a couple weeks ago then a few days later I saw one riding around in Salt Lake. Then this weekend I was in Seattle and I saw another one! What does this mean? I think that it means I need one! So if the CEO of Cinelli is reading this please email me so I can give you my address. Thanks

This one is quite beautiful!
