Cottered Cranks

This is a cottered crank. That bolt looking thing isn't just a bolt. It is actually cottered in there and is nearly impossible to remove without a great deal of effort. I finally got mine off after I drilled them out and banged on them for awhile! Now my fixie is ready for a new BB and crank! .... Cotterless of course!

Following a dream

So my last post was about my goal to one day be in the tour da france. I have been thinking about how I am going to fulfill my goal. I was talking with my girlfriend about goals and dreams and we came to a conclusion. If I could get an old racing bike and win with that then I will just be that much better with a new bike like Lance's. So I have decided to sell my "transformer" (mountain bike) and use the money to buy an older maybe vintage racing bike. Then when I've trained and I am really good and start winning races I can get sponsored and they will get a bike for me! That is my plan anyway. I was looking on KSL.com and I found this one
I don't know what size it is but it might fit me. I'm going to do it mark my words people!

New years Resolutions

Now I am not one to make new years resolutions because I think that it is just a lame excuse for people to do things that they already should be doing. I do respect the fact that some people make new years resolutions and actually keep them and they become better people because of it. On the other hand I have no respect for people who say they are going to do all these new things with their life in the new year but it never happens. (Wow that was harsh!) There are many things that I want to do in my life and new years is a good time to think about what I am doing to achieve these goals. In fact I was just talking with my friend Josh about my goal to one day be in the Tour de France. I know what you are thinking ... yeah right! Mark my words it will happen. Anyway as I was thinking about this goal I thought of what I have done to grow closer to this goal. Yes I did ride my bike a lot this summer and I was in pretty good shape but how good of shape can afternoon rides around the city get you in. So this year my new years resolution is to purchase a road bike that I can train on! Maybe this one ....
.... But probably not :(

New and the old

Funny Story! So the other day I was at work and I opened up the top shack on the Silverstar Lift. The night before I stayed up way too late with a lady friend of mine (but it was worth it!) So later that morning I was way too tired to be snowboarding and on the way down to the bottom shack I fell asleep standing up and this picture is the result.
On an added note when I snapped the board I also slightly sprained my ankle. I was more upset about my ankle it was time for a new board anyway. So with literally much pain I have bought a new board today! So it sucks but my new board is pretty cool as you can see!
For the first time in my entire life I am slightly excited for work on Monday!
